Gebhard’s Beer Culture’s Interior & Staff
Gebhard’s Beer Culture is a basement-style, cozy spot on the Upper West Side on 72nd Street between Broadway and West End Ave.
They played fun music the entire time and even had TVs with old-school movies playing (with subtitles).
We watched most of Jaws and even caught part of Flubber, both classics!
It feels like your friend’s parent’s basement with low lighting, colorful light fixtures, and simple but ample seating options.
The staff provided excellent beer recommendations, were consistently friendly, and promptly served our food. The interior and staff at Gebhard’s are top-notch.
The only negative part of this spot is very limited bathrooms. I think there was only one for the entire bar; that can be tough if it’s busy!
Gebhard’s Beer Culture’s Food
While Gebhard’s is certainly a beer-forward spot, they do offer tasty snacks and food options. Most food options range from $10-$20, about standard for NYC bar prices. You can see their full food menu here.
We had two items; the Fried Pretzels and the Thai Spring Rolls (on special).
While we probably wouldn’t order the Thai Spring Rolls again, the Fried Pretzels were phenomenal! The mustards they included were unique and added and extra punch to the already delicious flavor.
The Fried Pretzels are a must-try!
Gebhard’s Beer Culture’s Beers & Drinks
Gebhard’s Beer Culture offers a wide and unique range of craft beers, some on draft and others in cans or bottles.
We had:
- Guava cider can
- Dragonfruit mango
- Raspberry crush
We had so much fun trying out all the different beers; each one was a new adventure and we loved them all! Most of the beers range from $6-$13, with most in the $10-$11 range.
They also offer signature cocktails from $12-$14.
Gebhard’s Beer Culture also has some great specials. On nights that the Beacon Theatre has a show, you can get a beer & a shot for $10. It’s amazing!
